Commercial Propshafts are found on all rear wheel road going vehicles from large DAF, Volvo, Scania Tractor Units down to the Popular Ford Transit and Mercedes Sprinter.
Commercial Propshafts come in many different sizes and styles but the 4 main categories are as follows.
Short Couple Propshafts with length extension
These propshafts can be very short but are more commonly found between the rear axles on multi wheeled vehicle such as 8 wheel tippers.
This style of propshaft rarely contains tube.
Intermediate Propshafts
These propshafts are usually between 200mm and 2500mm long with a sliding section at one end. They are usually part of the main dive of a vehicle or a PTO drive.
Two Piece Driveline Assemblies
Slip Mid Propshafts are a relatively new design that combine the properties of both sliding propshafts and intermediate propshafts into 1 complete unit.
